It’s a great way to socialize and relax with friends or neighbors, and it’s bound to put a smile on everyone’s face. So if you’re looking for a summer activity that will promote tenant wellbeing, look no further than beach volleyball!

Plan a Cookout or Picnic

Picnics and cook outs are another great summer activity that promotes tenant wellbeing. Just like beach volleyball, picnics and cook outs get people outside in the sun and fresh air. They also provide an opportunity for socialization and relaxation with friends or neighbors. And of course, food always makes people happy! So if you’re looking for a summer activity that will promote tenant wellbeing, picnics and cook outs are a great option.

Host a Pool Party

If you have a pool, invite your tenants to a pool party! Pool parties are a great summer activity for tenants of all ages! They provide an opportunity to cool off on a hot day, have some fun, and socialize with friends or neighbors. Pool parties are also a great way to get people outside in the sun, it’s the best way to get Vitamin D, a vitamin that is essential for many functions in the body, including bone health and immune function. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

Start a Garden Club

Gardening is a great summer activity for tenants of all ages! It’s a peaceful way to spend some time outside in the sun and fresh air, and it can be very therapeutic. Gardening also provides an opportunity to get your hands dirty and connect with nature – something that is important for both physical and mental health. Also, soil contains microbes that are healthy for our gut microbiome.  Start a garden club and help your tenants grow their own food.  Not only will they appreciate the fresh produce, but they’ll learn about sustainable living and may grow a greater appreciation for the foods they’re consuming.

Yoga in the park

Yoga is a great way to promote tenant wellbeing.  It’s a low-impact form of exercise that can reduce stress and help improve flexibility, strength, and balance.  And what better place to namaste than in the park surrounded by nature?   Bonus tip: encourage your residents to step off the mat for a few moments to ground their bare feet on the earth.  This simple step has many benefits including reduced inflammation and improved sleep!

Plan a weekly walk around the neighborhood

Walking is a gentle way to get some exercise and enjoy the fresh summer air.  Walking allows your tenants to explore the neighborhood, meet new neighbors, and foster a sense of community. They provide an opportunity to get some exercise, spend time in nature, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Walks can also be very therapeutic – they’re a great way to clear your mind and de-stress.  Plan a weekly walk around the neighborhood and invite your tenants to join.

Visit a Farmer’s Market

Visiting the farmer’s market is another great summer activity that promotes tenant wellbeing! Farmer’s markets are a perfect place to pick up fresh, local produce, and to support your local farmers. It’s an opportunity to buy fresh, local produce, support small businesses, and enjoy the beautiful weather. Farmer’s markets are also a great place to socialize and meet new people. As you invite your tenants to visit a farmer’s market, you can share a recipe with fruits and veggies that are in season in your area, or  be there to help them choose some healthy, summer produce.

Plan a nature scavenger hunt

Get your tenants outside and exploring nature with a scavenger hunt!  Plan ahead and make a list of items they can find, or let them use their imagination.  Either way, they’re sure to have a blast searching for treasures in nature.
